F*CK AROUND TO FIND OUT
PAINTING WITH PETALS
with Mimosa Haque + Dee de Lara
DECONSTRUCT AND RECONSTRUCT: Find new ways to us, but old ways to our ancestors, for flowers that are “past their prime” (note: this is not a flower arrangement workshop)
DISRUPT AND DISMANTLE: Expectations society has placed on you and on flowers and how you are supposed to be
DISCOVER AND EXPLORE: Use all your senses to experiment with and express yourself and your values using every part of the flower
⛲️ What happens when we try to bring an idea to life outside our own heads and notebooks?
🗯 What happens when we say things aloud in a room full of people who also have things to say out loud?
🪁 What happens when we do something just because and not just to be good at it?
Let’s f*ck around to find out.
Join a collaborative series of collective creation and experimentation, for both facilitators and participants. It’s a space to say things aloud and witness each other as we try things out, play around, move through messing up and expand our capacity to f*ck up, so we can get curious to find out in community.
THE WORKSHOPS
Each workshop will be co-facilitated by Dee and a different collaborator with a different focus. We aim to collectively create across multiple mediums, including conversation, movement, sound, flowers, etc to stay present, explore sensations and capture a moment.
In each workshop, we'll collectively and individually explore your "FOUNDATION FOR FLUIDITY”, to ground into and flow from your values through conversation, reflection and movement.
THE INVESTMENT
$65 for ONE workshop | $120 for 2 tickets ($10 off 1 ticket for you and 1 for a friend)
No one will be turned away due to lack of funds! Please email hi [at] theliminalmovement [dot]com for options.

Community Reformer Pilates @ Muse Movement
COMMUNITY REFORMER
I’ll be teaching Community Reformer every Monday at 8:20pm at Muse Movement.
CLASS DESCRIPTION FROM MUSE
We believe that movement should be accessible. These community classes are a sliding scale option to move with Muse. It's our same great reformer class and all levels welcome. There is no doubt about it, a reformer workout is awesome! A reformer class has the magic power of relaxing your nervous system, working your whole body and energizing you at the same time. Work with more than gravity to get a full body workout that helps you focus; is healthy for your joints; creates strength and; improves balance. The reformer machine adds weight with spring resistance to your exercises which helps you connect to all your muscles; mobilize your whole bod and increase bone density. The reformer is also really fun and a 55 minute class will go by in a blink.

Big Ate Energy: Care for Those Who Care @ good space
big ate energy: care for those who care
"ATE" [ah-teh]: older sister (Tagalog)
Buuuut, you don’t have to be a sister or have younger siblings (biological or chosen) to be an Ate
You have Big Ate Energy if...
...everyone depends on you to get sh*t done
...you put pressure on yourself to do that even when no one asks
...you hold space for others
...space is rarely held for you
Whether you're holding space or holding it together for everyone, fighting loudly or quietly for collective liberation, or just feeling tender overall, let's find room to explore what care feels like in community.
This space is designed intentionally for those who identify as Black, Indigenous and as a Person of Colour (BIPOC)/racialized.
THE GATHERING
Join Dee de Lara of The Liminal Movement for a collaborative care moment that invites reflection and expression through movement and conversation. We'll have 2 hours together: 45 minutes of movement and 1 hour 15 minutes of reflection and conversation. During this time, we'll wander and wonder individually and together by:
GROUNDING through slow intentional Pilates and somatics-based movement
IGNITING connections through conversation and sharing
BALANCING with self-reflection through journaling and meditation
FLOWING forward into our futures with tools and tips for care we share with each other
What to bring:
comfortable clothes for movement and lounging (come as you are, but there are change rooms)
something to write with (a workbook will be provided, but feel free to bring a journal and pen)
something to hydrate and nourish yourself (bring a bottle, there's a water fountain)
masks are welcomed, but not required (this is about community care, after all)
THE INVESTMENT
The workshop is offered at 3 sliding scale rates: $45-$55-$65.
To white allies: If you'd like to make a donation or sponsor a spot for a BIPOC/racialized participant, please choose the DONATE option.
No one will be turned away due to lack of funds! Please email hi [at] theliminalmovement [dot]com for options.
Sliding scale considerations: Being honest with yourself and your financial situation when engaging with sliding scale practices grows strong and sustainable communities. It also respects the work of teachers, facilitators and creators. Additionally, when we are paid fairly, we are able to invest more time and resources to create free and lower-cost offerings.

DINNER CONFIDENTIAL: SOCIAL MEDIA
The Liminal Movement x Dinner Confidential TORONTO
Join the first in-person Dinner Confidential Toronto gathering since the pandemic started.
S O L D O U T!
📧Click here to join the WAITLIST 📧
An IRL gathering to talk about SOCIAL MEDIA
Love it or hate it (maybe both), social media has impacted everyone's lives. For most of us, our relationship with IG, Twitter, Tik Tok, LinkedIn, Facebook, etc. it's complex and multilayered. On the one hand, it can help us network, feel connected, share our ideas, and be inspired. But, on the other, it can bring a lot of comparison, disconnection, and feelings of "lack of." Let's come together to share and listen to our stories. How has social media affected our lives (the good and the bad), what has helped us end toxic behaviors, what we are struggling with at the moment, and how do we want our relationship with it to be in the future.
If you've been to other Dinner Confidential gatherings, this is a bit different:
this is open to all genders, not just women and non-binary femmes/folks
dinner/food will not be served
there is no cost to attend
this is a smaller group of max 6 people
there will be some slow movement and meditation
this will be taking place in a shared community space booked for this private event, not at my home (please note that there is a flight of stairs to access the space)
What will we do in our 2.5 hours together?
ground through slow intentional movement and body-based tools
connect through conversation
reflect through meditation
What to bring?
arrive in comfortable clothes for light movement and lounging: we will be seated on the ground on mats/bolsters/pillows, but chairs will also be available
something to write with (journal, pen)
something to hydrate and nourish yourself: food will not be provided, so feel free to bring snacks and drinks
mask and hand sanitizer
What Covid precautions will be in place?
proof of vaccination is required
we will agree on mask protocol and comfort levels together
a self-screening checklist will be sent before attending

LIMINAL LAB WITH STRANGELOVE: FEELING THROUGH FLOWERS
A BIPOC-Exclusive Collaborative Experimental Space
Join Mimosa Haque of STRANGELOVE and Dee de Lara of The Liminal Movement for a 3-hour collaborative experiment that invites reflection, conversation and expression of feelings through flowers.
"I want to share this floral meditative practice as a way to inspire folx to consider the now and fully surrender to "where they are now". In the beautiful container of Liminal Lab folx can wander and dream in a safe space to truly explore what's at their centre and in their heart presently without the pressures of an end goal." - MIMOSA HAQUE
This particular Liminal Lab is a space designed exclusively for those who identify as Black, Indigenous and as a Person of Colour.
