An IRL gathering to talk about SOCIAL MEDIA
Love it or hate it (maybe both), social media has impacted everyone's lives. For most of us, our relationship with IG, Twitter, Tik Tok, LinkedIn, Facebook, etc. it's complex and multilayered. On the one hand, it can help us network, feel connected, share our ideas, and be inspired. But, on the other, it can bring a lot of comparison, disconnection, and feelings of "lack of." Let's come together to share and listen to our stories. How has social media affected our lives (the good and the bad), what has helped us end toxic behaviors, what we are struggling with at the moment, and how do we want our relationship with it to be in the future.
If you've been to other Dinner Confidential gatherings, this is a bit different:
this is open to all genders, not just women and non-binary femmes/folks
dinner/food will not be served
there is no cost to attend
this is a smaller group of max 6 people
there will be some slow movement and meditation
this will be taking place in a shared community space booked for this private event, not at my home (please note that there is a flight of stairs to access the space)
What will we do in our 2.5 hours together?
ground through slow intentional movement and body-based tools
connect through conversation
reflect through meditation
What to bring?
arrive in comfortable clothes for light movement and lounging: we will be seated on the ground on mats/bolsters/pillows, but chairs will also be available
something to write with (journal, pen)
something to hydrate and nourish yourself: food will not be provided, so feel free to bring snacks and drinks
mask and hand sanitizer
What Covid precautions will be in place?
proof of vaccination is required
we will agree on mask protocol and comfort levels together
a self-screening checklist will be sent before attending
